"I got involved with Grey Gables in 1969, on my marriage to the Founder’s grandson.

My mother-in-law wished for there to be a “family connection”, if at all possible, and since I was a qualified physiotherapist, specialising in geriatrics on the resignation of my father-in-law as Chairman I was asked by my mother-in-law if I would go into the Committee.

I have been on the Committee some 25 years, and have kept in close touch, other than a gap due to my looking after my own parents down Wiltshire, then my father-in-law and my own illness.

When I was asked to become Chairperson in 2005, I felt that I was in a position to devote time and energy to the Home."
