Facilities

At Grey Gables we have a range of facilities in order to make sure that life for our residents is as comfortable as possible and in keeping with any routines and activities they may have had at their previous accommodation.

 

We have 3 large lounges overlooking spacious and well lit gardens, with patio furniture to allow the residents to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine during warmer months. We have a variety of activities available both weekly and throughout the year such as Bingo, Cinema Club, Singers, Arts & Crafts, Home Baking and Relaxation.

 

We also have a hairdressing Salon within the premises where residents can experience a full range of hair treatments on a regular basis.

 

We fully support and encourage all residents to take part in any activities that we organise and to socialise with other residents whenever possible.

 

We also host parties for residents on special birthdays and anniversaries, and organise a variety of events throughout the year to coincide with public holidays and events.

Services

We offer our residents a range of services in order to help them lead happy and fulfilling lives within Grey Gables. They have access to a call bell system in all rooms should they need to contact a member of staff, we can order periodicals and newspapers they request, and have access to a variety of books from the local library available in large print and audio format.

 

Normally, if a resident wishes to see a doctor a senior member of staff will assist you to arrange a visit or make an appointment at the surgery.

 

Chiropodists, Dentists and Opticians visit the home, both private and NHS. A senior member of staff will assist you to make an appointment, or you may chose to make your own arrangements.

 

Our holistic therapist visits once a week for 4 hours and is free of charge. This service ensures the residents nails are kept clean and are painted upon request

 

Information is provided upon admission of advocacy services that are available. Their services offers free advice and guidance on all aspects of funding and care of the older people. Sample Menu

The Chef offers a menu on a three weekly basis a copy of which is available in reception. Alternative choices are given to support diverse and cultural needs. However, residents are supported to have adequate nutrition and a well balanced diet. The menus are also flexible around the individual preferences and hot versions, snacks and drinks are available throughout the day and night.

 

SAMPLE MENU:

 

Breakfast:

Basket of Toast/Crumpets/Fruit Loaf, Full English Breakfast, Kippers, Selection of cereals & muesli, Freshly made porridge, Fresh fruit, Boiled Egg & Soldiers, Selection of Juices.

Lunch:

Roast Beef with Mashed potatoes, Red cabbage, Carrots, Broccoli and Yorkshire pudding OR Fish cakes with Sauté potatoes. Dessert: Apple Crumble, Rice Pudding with strawberry jam, Cheese cake.

Supper:

Assorted sandwiches, Soup of the Day with bread roll, Smoky Bean Chilli served with sauté potatoes, Poached egg on toast.

 

We also offer a range of snacks such as fresh fruit, nuts, crisps, and cheese and crackers.
